Shein (/ˈʃiːɪn/ SHEE-In; styled as SHEIN; Chinese: 希音; pinyin: Xīyīn) is a fast fashion retailer. Founded in Nanjing, China, in October 2008 as ZZKKO by entrepreneur Chris Xu, Shein grew to become the world's largest fashion retailer as of 2022. The company is currently headquartered in Singapore.

The men's clothing store chain Structure was originally part of Express, under the Limited brand, and was spun off in 1989 as its own store. It was reintegrated as "Express Men" starting in 2001, and the Structure brand was sold to Sears in 2003.

Inditex had the highest sales among the selected major apparel retailers and manufacturers, with revenues of approximately 34.5 billion U.S. dollars in fiscal year 2022. Hennes and Mauritz (H&M), and Fast Retailing were ranked second and third, respectively.

Harrods of London can be traced back to 1834, though the current store was built between 1894 and 1905. Opened in 1830, Austins in Derry remained in operation as the world's oldest independent department store until its closure in 2016.
